January: Changing habits

January is the perfect time to integrate fresh habits into our lives, especially after the holidays, when we are often a little careless with our health. How about an exciting challenge for this month? Instead of pushing off the usual New Year's resolutions to infinity, we adopt two simple but effective habits that help us improve our lifestyle.

If you are already standing, you can take a few steps directly.

The first habit we want to add to our daily lives is getting up more often during working hours. We often sit at our desks for hours without really thinking about how detrimental this can be for our health. Studies show that sitting for a long time not only leads to back pain, but also increases the risk of serious illness. Therefore, it is time to take action!

Set a timer that reminds you to get up every 30 to 60 minutes. Use these short breaks to move: go to the window and breathe in fresh air, get a glass of water or take a few steps through your home or office. You'll be surprised how much energy these short breaks can give you. This is not only good for your body, but also for your productivity. If you move regularly, it promotes blood circulation and helps you stay focused.

The second habit we're targeting for this January is stretching in between. Whether you work on the computer or sit in the car for a long time - your body needs movement and flexibility! Stretching exercises help relieve tension and keep your muscles supple. It's very simple: take a few minutes to gently stretch your body. You can include your neck, shoulders and back. These small movements not only help to relieve tension, but are also a great stress reliever.

Integrate these stretching breaks into your working day by simply trying different exercises for a few minutes while standing or sitting. Stretching can even take place during a phone call or during a short break between meetings. You will notice that it helps you concentrate better and at the same time increase your well-being.

Of course, the implementation of these new habits can lead to challenges. The habit of getting up regularly can be unfamiliar at first, especially if you tend to fall into a workflow. But remember: every small change makes a big difference! Hold on, and after a few weeks it will be much easier for you to maintain these habits.

Use January for your personal challenge and watch your body and mind change. You can be proud of yourself – after all, you are now actively implementing new habits that are good for your body.

To a healthy and active new year!
